Happy Birthday USMC!

Kyle Bateman here with BinaryWave.com

I just wanted to take a moment to Honor the Men and Women of the United States Marine Corps.

Each year, the Marine Corps marks November 10th with a celebration of the brave spirit which compelled these men and thousands since to defend our country as United States Marines.

Happy 233rd Birthday USMC!

The Lost Web Part? or Not?
Kyle Bateman here with BinaryWave.com

If you have accidently closed a Web Part within SharePoint and have no idea how to revive it, don’t panic; The Web Part is still in the Web Parts directory simply titled “Closed Web Parts”.  To get there we must start by clicking on the “Site Actions Tab”, as seen in the photo below.

Select the “Edit Page” option from the drop down menu in the “Site Actions Tab” on the top right of the page.

Edit Page

Then you must select the zone to which you would like to add the “Closed Web Part”.

Select Zone

Select the “Add a Web Part” option from the zone in which you have chosen.

Add a Web Part

This will then open the “Add Web Parts to Zone” Feature.

Web Parts to Zone

Note: you will not be adding a Web Part, you will be selecting the “Advanced Web Part gallery and options” feature on the lower right part of the page.

Advanced Web Part gallery and options

Now we click and open the “Advanced Web Part gallery and options” feature, here will find the “Closed Web Parts” that we were looking for.

F.Y.I. There’s a good chance that you may have to sort through various Web Parts that have been closed and not deleted. Make sure that you delete the “Web Part” as opposed to just closing it if you have no intention of using the said Web Part again.

Check out the new Omnia from Samsung; finally a touch phone with WM6.1 that actually has a big screen: 3.2" WQVGA TFT LCD display. (Imagine that…)

The Omnia is only being offered in the UK but I imagine that it will be in the U.S. very soon.

The New Google Browser

Download and try out Google’s new browser calledGoogle Chrome. It’s the Beta Version and from what I can tell so far it’s clean and fast. I have yet to form any opinions as to whether or not there will be any CSS issues. Indeed this all hinges on their rendering methodology.
