As most of you know, I was scheduled to speak at the SharePoint Best Practices conference in San Diego next week. Alas, it was not meant to be. My wife is eight months pregnant and has been having a rough time of it. Odds are that we'll be welcoming a new baby girl sometime while the conference is going on, making it three little cowgirls for this 'ol cowboy.
I'm disappointed that I won't be there to speak with everyone and spread the SharePoint love. I was really looking forward to this conference. Ben Curry and the gang have done an awesome job putting this together - if you've already made plans to be there I assure you it will be well worth it. Keep an eye on the agenda for replacement presentations and look for me at the UK Best Practices conference in April and TechEd North America in May.
UPDATE: Yep, just as predicted, Sarah Rose Shupps arrived at 8:20am Monday morning. I wish I could have been in San Diego to see everyone but sometimes life intervenes in mysterious ways. The decision to cancel was made at the last minute based on a gut instinct - had everything gone according to plan she wouldn't have been born until the end of the week but something told me that wasn't going to happen. Chalk another one up to redneck intuition. Now y'all do me proud and burn down the barn at SharePint San Diego - and somebody have a scotch on the rocks for me!
